David Thomson

David Thomson draws upon more than 20 years of marketing, sales, public relations, journalism and entrepreneurship experience to steer the growth of Thomson Communications. 

Before founding Thomson Communications, David spent ten years at Verizon Wireless (and its legacy companies). While at Verizon Wireless, he held positions in sales, marketing and senior regional management, including Director of Marketing for New England—with responsibility for all marketing, public relations, advertising, promotion, and events.

Whether providing strategic counsel to executives and clients, pitching media, negotiating sponsorships, planning special events, developing marketing campaigns, or implementing program tactics, Thomson invests an array of talents to create award-winning campaigns that meet and exceed client expectations.  Thomson and his team work to develop unique programs to differentiate clients, regardless of industry. In addition, he has realized success at negotiating large-scale sponsorships, as well as supportive agreements to assist non-profit organizations that often do not have necessary capital to orchestrate large budget activities.

Thomson speaks regularly to groups on a range of industry-related topics such as public relations, entrepreneurship, business strategy, marketing, and communications. He also serves as a professor at Salem State University, teaching a course in Media Relations to students in the Communications Department majoring in Public Relations.

Thomson serves on boards and committees for the following organizations as one way to give back:

  • Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter – Leadership Council Member, Communications Task Force Member, Served on the Association’s annual ‘Make The Link’ golf tournament committee for fifteen years, the last ten as Chair. In 2004 Thomson received the prestigious Myer Saxe Award from the Alzheimer’s Association in recognition of his outstanding leadership on behalf of people with Alzheimer’s disease and their families.
  • Danvers Community YMCA – Board Member
  • Danvers Youth Soccer – Board Member
  • Employers Against Domestic Violence – Board Member
  • Town of Danvers – School Committee Member

Thomson is also a member of the following business organizations:

  • Publicity Club of New England, serving as a judge for the annual Bell Ringer Awards since 2004

Thomson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management from Salem State College; a Master’s degree in public relations from Emerson College; and has received a certificate in Meeting Management from Bentley College.  

 

Jennifer Rosenberg
Jennifer Rosenberg
Jennifer Rosenberg brings nearly 20 years of experience to Thomson Communications. She specializes in communication strategy, media relations, crisis management, message development, research and analysis.

Prior to Thomson Communications, Jennifer worked at a variety of companies and nonprofit organizations. She was an account supervisor in the crisis group at Cone Communications, interim senior media relations manager at Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, communications manager at Metropolitan Area Planning Council, public relations manager at Dunkin’ Donuts, Inc., public relations and community affairs manager at Staples, Inc., communications director at both American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.

Jennifer brings extensive media relations expertise both nationally and local markets, writing and editing, event planning, crisis management experience both in-house and external agency counsel, and the management of social media strategies for companies.

Jenn has served on the Board of Overseers for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston since 2005 and enjoys volunteering for many other organizations as often as possible. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Springfield College and a master’s in Health Care Administration from Simmons College.

Sue Tabb
Sue Tabb
Tabb brings 20 years of expertise as a marketing and media professional to Thomson Communications and its numerous high-profile clients. Best known as an on-air radio personality, she was part of the #1 rated “Matty in the Morning” show on Boston’s Kiss 108 FM for five years.
Prior to her radio career, Sue was Regional Marketing Director for New England’s largest cable television provider, where she designed and launched successful customer acquisition campaigns with national programming partners.   Sue is an accomplished writer who has written for an NBC television affiliate, and many local and regional publications. She also served as the Editor and Features Writer for New England Bride magazine and as the Editor of New England Corporate Events magazine. She has been a regular contributor to Parents and Kids newspaper and currently authors a bi-weekly humor column for the Eagle Tribune’s Town Crossings and the Newburyport Daily News. In 2002, Sue’s column was recognized with a New England Press Association award. Sue is a seasoned public speaker, having honed her presentation skills at radio broadcasts and charity events with live audiences from 300 to 35,000 people. She regularly participates in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center’s Walk Against Violence and the American Heart Association’s Central New Hampshire Heart Walk. Sue lives in Newburyport with her husband and two young daughters. She spends her spare time volunteering at their school and watching her girls dance or play soccer. Sue’s recognition and relationships in the greater-Boston media community, along with her personal warmth and enthusiasm, help her open doors and create new opportunities for Thomson Communications’ clients.

 

Jamie Sullivan
Jamie Sullivan
Jamie Sullivan brings 20 years of experience in the marketing and event planning industry to her role at Thomson Communications. Prior to joining the agency, Jamie spent more than 17 years at Verizon Wireless in marketing as well as 3 years of event planning with a local non-profit organization.
As the Associate Director of Marketing for Verizon Wireless, Jamie was responsible for managing a $24 million annual budget. She has experience with advertising, marketing strategy, collateral development and production, customer retention programs and both employee and client event planning and team building. Her local non-profit work includes community service and family-focused events. Jamie also serves at the Director of Events for the Greater Newburyport Mothers and Families Club. A college athlete, Jamie swam competitively with Fordham University during her undergraduate studies and coached several youth programs post-graduate. She graduated from Fordham with a B.A. in Classics. For several years Jamie served on the planning committee for the annual Make the Link golf tournament to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH chapter.  She received the prestigious Myer Saxe Award from the Alzheimer’s Association in recognition of her outstanding leadership on behalf of people with Alzheimer’s disease and their families. Jamie continues to place a high value on community involvement through volunteer work and mentoring.
